Zainab used to say: stand by your mother's promise
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aon-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
Shabbir ka tum sadqa ho ab khaime may beta
You are here for Hussain
Tum laut kar na aana aey Aon-o-Muhammad
Don't return to camp Aun and Muhammad
Hai maa ko yaqeen tum maa ki baat rakhoge
Mother knows you will keep your mother's word
Ye yaad rahe khaimo may hai pyaase bache
Don't forget the thirsty children here in the camp
Darya pe agar jaana ho seh roz ke pyaso
If you reach the river my 3 day thirst stricken children
Tum pyas na bujhana aey Aon-o-Muhammad
Don't give in to your thirst
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
Har haal may tum par laazim hai shukr khuda ka
You must remain thankful to God
Aey shehzado hai sabr tumhara virsa
Inner strength is your heritage my Princes
Farzand ho tum zainab ke shikwa nahi karna
You are the sons of Zainab don't make any complaints,
Jab zakhm koi khana aey Aon-o-Muhammad
When you receive any injuries Aun and Muhammad
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
kab hum pe sitam karne ke liye aaye hai
Who knows how long they have been planning to oppress us
yeh badr o ohad ke badle ke liye aaye hai
They have come to avenge their defeats at Badr and Ohad
laazim hai rajaz se pehle maidan may tum par
You have an obligation before you recite a rajaz (a poem introducing yourself when you enter a battlefield in Arab tradition) about yourself in the battlefield
madhe Ali sunana ay Aun-o-Muhammad
Recite Ali's praises Aun and Muhammad
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
Jab saans tumhari bachon ho ukharne wali
Just before you take your last breath,
Us waqt sirhane aayengi madar meri
My Mother will arrive to comfort you
Dil ki ye mere khwahish hai us dam meri maa se
My request to you is,
Zakhmon ko tum chupana aey Aon-o-Muhammad
Don't let her see your injuries, Aun and Muhammad
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
Qatil pe karam nana ki tarha kar dena
In the tradition of your grandfather the Prophet, have mercy on the people that come to fight you
yun laaj mere bhai ke naam ki rakhna
In that way, keep the honour attached to my brother's name
jo waasta de bhai ka maidan pe us par
Those who ask to be spared in Hussain's name
tum taygh na chalana ay Aun-o-Muhammad
Spare them from your swords
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
Jab laashe uthaakar khaime may laaye sarwar
When Hussain brought the bodies back to the camp
Zainab ye boli askhon ko apne chupakar
Zainab hid her tears and said
Mai bhi na tumhe ro-ungi aur mere liye bhi
I won't weep over my martyrs and neither should they
Aansu na tum bahana aey Aon-o-Muhammad
Weep over me, Aun and Muhammad
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
Taazeem ki khaatir kyun ut-thay nahi ab beta
Why won't you get up and maintain protocol?
Dekho to sirhane aaye hai mere bhaiya
Look who's picked you up in his arms
Jaago mere shehzado kya bhoolgaye ho
Wake up my Princes have you forgotten?
Qadmo pe sar jhukana aey Aon-o-Muhammad
Bow your head when you're near Hussain's feet
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
Shabash Mere Bachon Hoo Mai Tumse Raazi
I'm proud of you my children
Yeh Kehke Takallum Khamosh Huvi Shahzadi
Takallum (the poet talking out loud), Zainab said
Naizo Pe Safar Karke Hamraah Hamaare
You will be our travel companions on top of spears
Tumko Hai Shaam Jaana Ay Aun-o-Muhammad
to the prison of Syria Aon-o-Muhammad
Aey Aon-o-Muhammad aey Aun-o-Muhammad
Aun and Muhammad, Aun and Muhammad
